A little bit of everything

A rare treat, Pat and I were able to go to the movies last weekend again. We saw Indiana Jones 4 and while we were told it was good but just ok we both loved it and were so into it that we barely noticed the kids behind us that were either repeating everything that was being said, or screaming at completely inappropriate times. Like when NOTHING was happening. Anyway, Pat said that he felt guilty pawning the kids off on his mom two weekends in a row. To which I told him that it was only a few hours and that it wasn't that big of a deal. He said that he didn't want to impose on his mom and I told him that if she didn't want to watch the boys she'd say she didn't or couldn't watch them. Plus, it's not like we do this all the time. Before we saw these two movies, the last one we went to see was....

"The Spiderwick Chronicles" And it just came out on DVD so that tells you how long ago it was. Unlike some other people, (my sil) the movies is a treat for us. We can get sitters and have money to go sometimes, not a lot, mind you, but we do have plans to go but usually one thing or another gets in the way and we don't end up making it to see the movie. What's been happening lately is that we get there and the show we want to see is either sold out or has already started and if its too late into the movie, I'd rather not go in and see it. But try again another day. And to be perfectly honest, there has been a time or two when we had plans to go see a movie and the dear MIL took the baby overnight so that we could and it was so peaceful at home that I just wanted to stay and relax and not rush out all over town. Ya know?
So I just have to say this because it has really been bugging me. On the news the other day, they had a story that a baby who had been left in a hot car for 2 hours had died. And my heart goes out to the mother who left him in the car. It sounds like he lived for about 3 or 4 days before he passed away. I can't even imagine the mental anguish that this poor lady has been going through. She had gone to a friends house and left the 5 month old (some reports said it was 3 months old) in the car for two hours and she had just forgot that he was there. I personally wanted to know how you could forget your baby and why the friend didn't ask her where the baby was, wouldn't that have jogged your memory that he was out there? But anyway, they had a guy on the news (because this is the 3rd one in 3 months!!) One of the babies was found right after the parents left it in the car to go shopping and he broke out the window and called the cops so that one was fine. The other poor baby died. The "expert" said that if you were forgetful that you should set something that you wont forget next to the baby so that when you get said item, you'll remember to grab the baby. I was like WHAT???? Now I'm just as scatter brained as the next person but the baby is the one thing that I remember!! I've left milk in the car, my phone, the diaper bag, ect. So I just want to know what is something you'd remember if you couldn't remember the baby.

So much

So much has been done in the last week that I am trying really hard to remember everything I was asked to talk about so I'll do my best. Here goes: On Saturday (last saturday) Pat and I went to his eye appt and his contacts cost $50.00 a box and we of course needed two boxes because his eyes are two different RX. (So are mine but my boxes cost $25.00 a box). The doctors office thankfully agreed to mail them right to our house so I didn't have to make ANOTHER trip up there. It's in So. Ogden and in heavy traffic it can take over 20 minutes to get there. We've made a trip up there every week for the last three weeks. I really didn't want to have to go up there again. Although, one of the girls that work there reminds me SO MUCH of my friend Yvette. Not so much her looks, but her mannerisms and the way that she talks is very much Yvette like. We decided to go get something to eat, (I love subway!!!) and then went on a small space cruise before deciding to go down to the Newgate Mall and check out the mini traveling memorial wall for the Vietnam War. Pat has a second cousin that died in the war and we were able to find where on the wall he was and got some pictures from it. Greg B Belew is his 2nd cousin.

After that, we decided to go walk around the Mall and h
e basically just followed me around but he did want to check out a few stores too. I dragged him into Victoria Secret because I wanted to look at one of the new bra's that I had seen advertised. I also wanted to be measured since I haven't been since I had Cameron. I didn't even know what size I was anymore. I went ahead and bought one of the new Biofit bra's and I LOVE it!!! It is really almost like it was made for my body and that I really barely feel it. I was in shock for awhile, it cost me $45.00!!! I've never spent that much on a bra, ok that is a lie. I did buy a bra and panty set from Victoria Secret a few years ago, but I think that I got both of them for less than 45. It was a few years ago, so my brain doesn't want to recall that info. OR... maybe it's cause I did spend that much and I was in shock then too and my brain blocked out the painful memory of it. I bet that's what happened. But my bra this time is SUPER cute. It's white with colored polka dots!! Very cute. :) This is not the color I have but it is the bra.

We also stopped by Bath and Body Works, because my SIL works there and she gave me a gift certificate for my birthday and so I was able to buy some refills for my wall flowers and because it is their semi-annual sale, I got them for $5.00 a piece and they had my most favorite sent in so I got 3 kitchen spice, so very yummy!! 2 wall flowers in the pumpkin spice smell. Another good one, and then I got a new scent that I've never smelled before but decided to try it, wild honeysuckle. My parents had a honeysuckle bush in their backyard when I was younger and I loved the smell when they bloomed so I decided to give it a try. I'll let you know later if it's a good smell or not.

I also bought myself a book. I bought "Little Women". I've seen and love the movie, but I've never read the book so I thought why not.

We also decided to use the gift card we got for Christmas for the Cinemark theaters in the mall and go see "Prince Caspian" . I absolutely LOVED "The Chronicles of Narnia" (books) when I was little. The very first book I remember ever reading on my own as in not a school book, was "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and my dad bought me the whole series when I was in like the 5th or 6th grade. I loved them so I was way super happy that they were being made into movies. And while the movies varied from the books some, I was still pleased with them! I was VERY happy with Prince Caspian. And I must say that I think the kids are all growing into very cute people. Especially the younger two. Though, I was sad that Mr. Tumnus wasn't in the second movie, he wasn't in the book either, but I really loved him. I really liked the guy who played him (James McAvoy) as well!! YUMMY!!!!
Well, the baby is up now so I'll finish this later.

A few years ago

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more A fews years ago Pat and I were going for a space cruise. We were going up Ogden canyon fairly late at night when we passed one of those election signs that we get saturated with every year saying vote for me for so and so, ect. We were going too fast to be able to get a picture of it and truth be told, we didn't think about it until the next day but the guy's name was Richard Payne. We laughed so hard at the thought of "Dick Payne" running for president or even the mayor. Please stand and welcome your commander in chief, President Dick Payne" or "If you vote for me, Dick Payne, I'll make sure....." I never did find out what happened in the election and whether or not Mr. Payne won whatever he was running for. It still makes me giggle when I think about it.

Yesterday

As the only approved sponsor for my sister, I had the delightful (not) pleasure (again, not) to go get her yesterday and babysit her for 8 whole hours! The whole time I'm thinking what on earth am I going to do with her for 8 hours!! Not a clue. We decided to get her hair done because it hadn't been done since my mom died 18 months ago. My dad had to pay for it so I wanted to go some place that wouldn't cost a fortune, being Sunday I was severely limited in my choices. Meaning Wal-mart salon here we come. Cheap it was not! For just a crown weave for highlights and a cut, not even a cut, it was a TRIM, it was $83.00 plus a tip. I wouldn't have complained but the highlights didn't even cover all the places they should have and she had dark patches in the back. I didn't tell her because what could she do about it, and she didn't pay for it. Had it been my hair I would have pitched a fit so that I got my $83.00 worth! Taking her out of the Rehab was a nightmare in and of it's self. I had to show ID, this I expected. I had to sign a paper saying what time I was taking her and when I was bringing her back, again this was expected. When we arrived at my house she had to call and say that she was here. When we were getting ready to leave to go get her hair done, she had to call again. When we got to Walmart she had to use their phone so that it would show up on the caller ID that she was there. When we left she again had to use their phone to say that we were leaving. When we got back to my house she had enough time to grab her laundry (that I did) call and say that she was on her way back. We did stop at my mother in laws house and my dad's house in Brigham, but since they aren't approved, they weren't on the list of her activities and we didn't call just added extra drive time.
She has to put a request in saying where she is going, when she is going and the addresses and phone numbers of where she is going.
She wanted me to come and get her next weekend too but I said no! My birthday is this week and I really don't want to have to deal with all that again. I think Kelly's dad is taking him for the weekend and my mother in law is taking the baby so I will actually have time to myself. Which I will spend 75% of it cleaning my house because it's a mess!!! I would love to take the opportunity to clean without kids under foot.

My Boys...

So we were in Brigham yesterday and both Kelly and Cameron were so cute playing with each other... I grabbed Venetta's camera
and asked kelly to smile and this is what I got.

Then I asked Cameron to smile and this is what I got... lol They are so cute.

Kelly was sitting on the floor and Cameron decided that Kelly was going to be his couch and stuck his butt out and backed up to Kelly. He sat down on Kelly's legs just fine but then stood up to do it again and he missed Kelly's legs and ended up on his back. He thought that was the funniest thing that had ever happened to him so he kept doing it and I was able to get pictures. They are so much fun to watch when they play together.

Pat went paintballing on Saturday and is bruised and sore from where the paintball's hit him and somehow, (baby ESP I think,) Cameron knew right where Pat hurt and started to hit Pat right on those spots, and when Pat said OWW (more like screamed Ow) Cameron once again thought it was the best thing he could ever have done and kept it up.
